Research Methods

Prerequisites Entry into either the BSc OR BIS Honours program.

Teaching Organisation 4 hours per week for 12 weeks or equivalent of tutorial discussions, computer laboratory and library classes and field work.

Enables honours students to discuss the development of the scientific method in an historical context and to explore aspects of ethics and philosophy relating to science. There is a focus on gaining essential knowledge and skills in research design, methodologies, and analysis. Communication skills needed for the presentation of scientific submissions, reports, and manuscripts are developed during the unit.
