Duration 1 year full-time or equivalent part-time Available at Notre Dame Institute of Education, Karachi, Pakistan Overview The characteristics which distinguish this course from similar courses of secondary teacher pre-service preparation in Pakistan are its specifically Catholic nature, its integration of theory and practice in education, and its emphasis on personal development and commitment. The course facilitates the development of reflective, educated, culturally aware and responsive individuals, able to function effectively as beginning teachers in a variety of settings, and committed to their continuing professional development. The course is offered on-campus at Notre Dame Institute of Education in Karachi, Pakistan. Religious belief is not a criterion for entry. Applicants require satisfactory completion of a Bachelors degree in Arts, Science or Commerce, with the equivalent of two years substantial study in the area in which students will undertake curricular and method studies. Competence in English is required. Applicants who have not reached the required standard will be required to undertake an extensive English language course to reach an appropriate standard of competence Unit Offerings Unit offerings will vary subject to student demand and lecturer availability.
