This unit will provide an opportunity to explore issues and theories in relation to the management of resources, especially in health care service organisations. Physical, human and financial resource management principles and practices will be critically examined. Participants will be encouraged to develop strategies and skills to maximise the allocation and use of resources, and enhance accountability. Measures and indicators of effective resource management will be critically appraised for relevance to health service organisations and delivery of quality care.
