10cp Quality in Health Care This unit critically examines the emergence of quality management and the philosophy of quality improvement as a factor in contemporary society. Philosophical, historical, social, economic and cultural issues that underpin quality management systems will be examined. Factors such as globalisation, and the consumer movement, which has led to new paradigm approaches to the structuring of organisations and leadership, will also be examined. A particular focus of the unit will be the development of quality management processes in health care. |
