The major objective of this unit is to critically examine and discuss the notion and need for transcultural nursing. The discussion and activities include the following topic areas: an introduction to the transcultural (cross-cultural nursing), transcultural perspectives on health / illness beliefs and practices, transcultural concepts of care, maximising transcultural therapeutic nurse-people relationships, and the development of a transcultural nursing health care system. |
