Psychosocial Nursing 1

This is the first of two units in Psychosocial Nursing. This unit places emphasis on sociological concepts and theories relevant to nursing practice. It begins with the small scale of micro-sociological issues, such as individual socialisation, the illness experience and the distinction between curing and caring, and then progresses to examine broader or macro-sociological issues such as social inequality and health and the social shaping of institutions, health care and nursing practice.
