This unit is designed to help students understand contemporary educational policy and practice by applying major sociological perspectives to the social and cultural factors impacting on schools. Students will have the opportunity to relate sociological theory to decision-making concerning social and educational change that they may experience and initiate both as teachers and as citizens.
