Theories of Personality

Prerequisites PSYC202 Social Psychology.

Teaching Organisation 3 hours per week of lectures and tutorials, 2 hours per week in laboratory.
PERSONALITY Major theories of personality and their empirical bases. Issues in personality psychology such as stability versus change, heredity versus environment, person versus situation. Major theories and issues in conceptualising and measuring emotion and motivation, and their physiological and cultural bases.
QUANTITATIVE METHODS Extension of understanding basic statistical concepts of computing skills, using SPSS for Windows. Statistical inference, significance, decision-making, causality.
