Human Resource Management


Prerequisites MGMT101 Fundamentals of Management.
Teaching Organisation 3 hours per week for 12 weeks or equivalent.

This unit provides an overview of the human resource function in modern organisations. This unit covers a range of HR issues, perspectives, theory, research and best practice. HRM is examined from a strategic perspective, placing emphasis upon creating a fit between HRM policy and practice and organisational strategy, culture and business environments. The unit addresses core functions of HRM and also the needs and expectations of the multiple internal and external stakeholders in organisations. Ethics in HRM is also a key consideration in this unit. This unit is the foundation unit for the Human Resource Management major.
