10cp Fundamentals of Management
The
unit will introduce participants to a systematic understanding of the
management processes and associated human behaviour in the workplace.
It is about how organisations are managed and how managers can best help
their organisations set and achieve their goals in an effective and an
efficient manner. To be able to understand some of the processes involved
in managing, as well as to explain some elements of human behaviour, participants
will cover planning and controlling, perception, motivation theories,
group dynamics and teamwork, organisational culture, organisational design
and structure, leadership theories, attitudes, social responsibility and
ethical issues. The emphasis will be on the application of these concepts
to the workplace.
