The Diploma of Social Science is available as a UniAccess-Australia and UniAccess-International program.

The aim is to provide an opportunity for students from diverse backgrounds to study a selection of units of interest to them in a program that offers a pathway to an award course. The course is offered on a fee-paying basis and is available to Australian and International students.

This course is designed for students interested in a broadly-based program that integrates the study of behavioural science, sociology and Australian society with a choice of other subjects and the development of communication skills.

The course assists students to prepare for a diversity of careers in the human services in government and public and community-based agencies.

A UniAccess-Australia student who successfully completes eight units specified by a UniAccess program may either leave with a Diploma exit qualification and/or make a direct application to ACU National, against specified criteria, for a place in the Bachelor of Social Science as either a HECS student or a fee-payer. All applications will be considered on the basis of academic merit.

A UniAccess-International student who successfully completes eight units specified by a UniAccess program may either leave with a Diploma exit qualification or continue their studies with a place in the Bachelor of Social Science.

A student who successfully completes four or more units in the Diploma of Social Science may exit with a Certificate of Social Science.
