at Brisbane Campus QLD (McAuley at Banyo) The Bachelor of Business is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment and future managerial positions in a variety of organisations where an understanding of and proficiency in the principles of business are required in the specialist areas of accounting, financial services, human resource management, information systems, international business and marketing. These organisations may include commercial, industrial and service organisations, agencies across all levels of government, or a variety of non-profit organisations such as church and charitable bodies. The course focuses on developing skills in communication, interpersonal relations, negotiation, leadership, critical thinking, decision-making, problem-solving and personal ethical behaviour. It is envisaged that graduates will be autonomous learners by graduation and will develop further skills as their education in life continues. The course provides the foundation for post-graduate education in the majors studied. In 2005, the disciplines available are:

(any). Definition of Terms A Major consists of 8 prescribed units, which build on a common core of knowledge for all business majors. Requirements for Completion of Pass Award Completion of 240 credit points (cp), (each unit has a value of 10cp), as prescribed below: · 12 Core units (120cp); · a Major area of study of 8 units (80cp); · 4 elective units (40cp). In addition, students must complete 20 days (equivalent to 140 hours) of approved professional experience in each of the three years of the degree. Students will be required to enrol in a Professional Experience unit each year and to write a report on their professional experience. Credit must be gained in these units to enable graduation. (These units do not attract credit point weightings nor involve payment of fees.) Unit
