The Faculty of Education offers a range of fee-paying courses, designed to allow students to pursue areas of academic and educational interest, leading to the completion of an additional qualification. Different specialties at varying levels are available in different states, and within different campuses in those states. Courses are available at the following levels:
· Graduate Certificate
· Graduate Diploma
· Postgraduate Certificate
· Postgraduate Diploma.
Normally, students who complete a Graduate Certificate are eligible to enrol in the Graduate Diploma which builds on studies completed in the Graduate Certificate program. Similarly, students who complete studies at the Graduate Diploma or Postgraduate Certificate level will normally be eligible to begin studies at the Masters level which build on achievements in their previous studies. In most circumstances, students may enrol directly into a Graduate Diploma if they wish to do so. In some circumstances, studies at the Graduate Certificate, Postgraduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma level may attract credit into a Masters level course.

As a result of the revision of the Master of Education course in 2000, students now have the option of enrolling in a Postgraduate Certificate which enables them to study a particular specialisation at the Masters level. Normally, applicants must have satisfactorily completed a degree in Education or a degree in an area other than Education and a postgraduate Diploma in Education.
Applicants whose educational qualifications do not satisfy the requirements for admission to a particular course, but who have a sound and sufficient basis for application supported by relevant documentation, may be granted admission to the course if they satisfy special admission criteria determined by the Academic Board.
